Over the summer we had a wonderful pleasure to film Katie & Derk's wedding at the Gilroy Gardens family amusement park in Gilroy, California. The wedding venue was absolutely beautiful with all the rides and gigantic tent at the reception that hosted all their families & friends. Katie and Derek were such a fun couple to work with, energetic, partying like it's 2016 and not leaving each other behind on the rides that's for sure. Check out the video below and you'll see what we're talking about.
Amazing scenic views. Cheap eats. Robot cafes?!?! What's not to love? Taiwan's got it all!
One of the most memorable experience I had while traveling in Taiwan are the people and the communities. Despite the level of English proficiency in Taiwan, the people there are super nice, willing to try talking to you regardless. One day I hopped on a bus to meet a friend at a museum in Taichung and I believe I was lost. I tried asking the bus driver if the bus line would reach the museum, while the driver scratches his head not knowing how to respond. He does realize I am lost and know where I'm pointing to. He IMMEDIATELY grabs the communicator and ask EVERYONE on the bus whether they know if his bus line went to the museum (or at least I think that's what he said). I turned my head back, people started looking at me, then dozens of riders told me to wait a minute and they all started to check their phones and looking up the info for me. I felt amazed at how nice and generous a lot of these people even though they know I am a tourist who do not speak mandarin they tried their best to direct me in Mandarin hoping that I would understand. Believe me, if you're on a Muni in San Francisco, you're just gonna get the snake-eye batsh*t crazy looks from riders and simply be ignored (for the most part). That's why I love Taiwan, the food, the people, the community, it's quite an adventure. I will return very soon Taiwan and hopefully by then I can grab a drink with their first Madam President! Cheers!
What is it like to see a plane land less than a mile away from where we stood?
Check out our recent collaboration with Air China & teaming up with Bay Tiger Video Productions, we got the opportunity to get in on some plane landing action and the water cannon inaugural ceremony for their San Jose to Shanghai airline launch.
In love we're not alone and love is a treasure we can never repay. When a couple such as Cassie & Cy are loved by many friends and families, their bond becomes stronger.
Hong Kong is indeed a city to visit once in a lifetime. The vibe in Hong Kong are a mix of traditional and new cultures. You have the awesome eateries in Mong Kok (get the roast duck and pineapple bun), great shopping deals in Shum Shui Po, bars and nightlife in Hong Kong Island. This city has it all! I hope to return to Hong Kong someday.
I was in Hong Kong this Spring and I got a chance to visit my good friend Meiling who recently gave birth to a baby boy Eason and is now a happy and proud mama. In the Chinese tradition, mothers who just gave birth are recommended to stay indoor to recover, eat ginger-vinegar braised egg and pork 豬腳薑醋 for nourishment, which in my case I was unable to meet the parents and baby outdoor for a portrait shoot. Eventually I got to visit the family in their lovely apartment home and when it was time to bust out my camera I find baby Eason sleeping soundly. Without waking him up, I took few snapshots while he dozes off and then mama comes in and snuck a few props for enjoyment, hence I named the dolls "Eason's 5 Plushy Guardians". He eventually woke up and immediately fell back to sleep...this occurred THREE TIMES! "Baby the day is young! Let Uncle Wooolis take some photos of you smiling, crying and laughing," I said. He did not comply. Eventually Eason was being fed by papa and mama, after a quick burping session, food coma kicks in and back to sleep he went. Needless to say what you see in the gallery is why it's all sleepy photos of him. The next time I visit Baby Eason, I hope he can schedule his nap ahead of time so we can take some selfies together instead.
